EA Sports Brings Back College Basketball Video Games with Exciting New Features
June 30, 2025 - 23:21
EA Sports has announced the unexpected revival of its college basketball video game series, signaling a significant shift in the gaming landscape. This new installment is set to include women's college basketball programs, a move that reflects the growing popularity and recognition of women's sports.
Both EA Sports and Take-Two Interactive had previously halted their college basketball franchises in the late 2000s due to disappointing sales figures. The cancellation of these games came years before legal issues forced EA to pause its college football series in 2014. However, the recent resurgence of interest in college sports, combined with advancements in gaming technology, has prompted EA to re-enter this competitive market.
The decision to include women's programs marks a progressive step towards inclusivity in sports gaming, allowing fans to engage with a broader range of athletes and teams. As anticipation builds for the game's release, many are eager to see how EA Sports will innovate and enhance the college basketball gaming experience.
