Amazon Prime Video has quietly rolled out a new feature that lets subscribers play full AAA video games without any extra charge. The update adds a dedicated Games tab inside the Prime Video app, giving users direct access to a rotating library of titles through Amazon's Luna cloud gaming service. This means you can now launch games like Fallout and Hogwarts Legacy straight from the same interface where you watch movies and shows.

The integration works on smart TVs, Fire TV sticks, and select mobile devices. Once you open the Games tab, you see a list of available titles. Clicking one opens the Luna cloud stream, which runs the game on Amazon's servers and sends the video to your screen. No downloads, no console, no PC required. You just need a compatible controller or the Luna mobile app for touch controls.

Amazon is framing this as a free perk for Prime members, not a separate subscription. The library will rotate over time, with new games added and old ones removed. For now, the selection includes a mix of older blockbusters and indie hits. The move puts Amazon in a unique spot, blending streaming video and cloud gaming into one service. It also gives Prime Video a reason to open the app beyond just watching content. While Luna itself has struggled to gain traction against bigger competitors like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now, tucking it inside Prime Video could bring in millions of casual players who already pay for the subscription.

The catch is that you still need a solid internet connection. Cloud gaming demands low latency and stable bandwidth, so rural or congested networks might struggle. Also, the free library is limited compared to Luna's paid subscription, which offers hundreds of games. Still, for Prime members who already have the service, this is a no-cost way to try heavy hitters without buying hardware.
