Thousands of baseball fans packed the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Saturday for the opening day of MLB All-Star Village. The event kicked off All-Star Week with a sprawling setup of interactive exhibits, batting cages, and skill challenges designed for fans of all ages.
Visitors lined up early to test their swing in the Home Run Derby simulation, try their hand at pitching speed games, and explore memorabilia displays featuring past All-Star Games. The convention center floor was transformed into a baseball-themed playground, with kids running between inflatable bases and adults posing for photos near oversized trophies.
Organizers reported strong turnout throughout the day, with families and groups of friends filling the main concourse by midday. The Village also featured autograph sessions with former players and a dedicated area for youth baseball clinics. Many attendees wore jerseys of their favorite teams, creating a sea of colors that reflected the sport's broad appeal.
This year marks the first time Philadelphia has hosted the All-Star Game since 1996. The Village will remain open through Tuesday, offering daily activities and special events leading up to the Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park. Fans who missed opening day are expected to arrive in even larger numbers over the weekend, as the city leans into its reputation as a passionate baseball town.
