Path of Exile 2 has been in early access since December 2024, and players are eager to understand what the full 1.0 launch will look like. Grinding Gear Games has been clear that early access is a testing ground, not the finished product. The studio plans to use this period to gather feedback, balance classes, and refine endgame systems before committing to a full release.
The full launch will bring the complete campaign, which spans six acts set across the dark world of Wraeclast. Early access currently offers only a portion of that content. The remaining acts, along with additional ascendancy classes, will arrive with 1.0. Grinding Gear has also confirmed that the passive skill tree, already massive, will expand further as new weapon types and build options are introduced.
Endgame is another major focus. The current mapping system and pinnacle bosses represent only a slice of what the developers have planned. Expect more league mechanics, expanded crafting, and a deeper atlas progression when the game officially launches.
Monetization remains free to play. The studio has repeatedly stated that Path of Exile 2 will not sell power or mandatory content. Cosmetics, stash tabs, and supporter packs will carry over from the first game where applicable.
A specific release date has not been announced. Grinding Gear has said the game will stay in early access until the team feels the full campaign and endgame are ready. Based on current progress, a 2026 launch window seems plausible, though nothing is confirmed. Players should expect regular patches and league updates in the meantime.
