6 Horror Video Game Trailers From Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest 2025 delivered a blood-soaked lineup of new trailers that had horror fans on the edge of their seats. From long-awaited remakes to fresh multiplayer experiments, here are the six most chilling reveals that dominated the showcase.

First up, the Resident Evil - Code: Veronica remake finally got a proper trailer after years of rumors. Capcom showed off the revamped Rockfort Island with modern over-the-shoulder camera angles and gruesome new details on the Tyrant. The trailer ended with a quick shot of Alexia Ashford, confirming the story will stay faithful to the original.

Another standout was a brand new Saw multiplayer game, simply titled "SAW: The Game." The trailer showed four players trapped in a series of interconnected death traps, forced to work together or betray each other to survive. The Jigsaw puppet made a brief appearance, delivering a chilling monologue about human nature.

Silent Hill fans also got a surprise with a new trailer for "Silent Hill: The Short Message 2." The footage was almost entirely first-person, showing a character running through a flooded apartment complex while a faceless creature crawled along the ceiling. The audio design was particularly unsettling, with distorted radio static and wet footsteps.

The indie scene brought "Crow Country 2," a sequel to the beloved survival horror game. The trailer kept the same low-poly PS1 aesthetic but introduced a sprawling forest map and a new enemy type that mimics the player's voice.

For those who prefer psychological horror, "The Bridge Curse 3" showed a terrifying sequence set in a Taiwanese university dormitory. The trailer relied on jump scares but also hinted at a deeper story involving a cursed online forum.

Finally, "Darkest Dungeon II" announced a new expansion called "The Labyrinth," which adds a procedurally generated dungeon filled with Lovecraftian horrors. The trailer focused on the stress mechanic, showing a hero's portrait slowly cracking as they faced impossible odds.

All six trailers are now available to watch on the official Summer Game Fest channels.
