This Week's Video Game Releases

This Week's Video Game Releases

The first full week of September brings a heavy lineup for players across PC and consoles. Leading the charge is the long-awaited return of Capcom's Onimusha series, which drops on September 3rd. This new entry, subtitled Way of the Sword, blends the classic tactical slashing with a more modern, open-ended level design. Early previews have praised its parry system and the dense feudal atmosphere, though some fans are still adjusting to the new protagonist, a wandering ronin with a cursed gauntlet.

Sharing the spotlight is The Blood of Dawnwalker, a dark fantasy action RPG from a studio formed by former CD Projekt Red developers. It launches on September 5th. The game leans heavily on a day-and-night cycle where your character, a half-vampire lord, must manage both human alliances and monstrous urges. Choices made during the day shift how the night plays out, and the branching narrative is said to be substantial. The combat is fast, with a focus on transforming mid-fight, and the world is packed with hidden crypts and political intrigue.

Beyond those two big names, the week also sees the release of a remastered collection of the first three Silent Hill titles for modern systems, arriving on September 4th. It is a straight port with some visual filters and quality-of-life options, but no new content. For indie fans, the cozy farming sim Hearthbound Valley comes out on September 6th, offering a more relaxed pace with a focus on seasonal festivals and community building. it is a dense start to the month, with something for both action purists and those who prefer a slower burn.
